Step I: Unbox Your Keurig Coffee Maker

Order placed, delivery performed, and you got a box having Keurig Coffee Maker. Unbox the unit by removing all the packaging and tapes. Now assemble all the components to their respective place and plug in the unit to a power source. Here, take help from the user manual as it contains all the useful information about your Keurig.

Step II: Uplift The Handle and Remove The Temporary Disc

In some the Keurig models, you'll find a temporary disc (shipping disc) included with the pod attachment. Lift the handle and remove this shipping disc. Make sure you don't throw away the disc or lost it, as you never you when it'll be demanded.

Note: This step is not for the buyers who don't get any shipping disc along with it the unit.

Step III: Remove The Water Reservoir Tank and Clean it

Most of the Keurig coffee makers come with a removable water reservoir tank. So if you've one, dismantle the water reservoir and rinse it properly before using it for the first time.

Take a sponge or soft cloth, along with soapy water and clean the tank properly. Clean the corners and base of the tank. Make sure you dry the tank completely before putting it back to its place.

Step IV: Prepare The Charcoal Water Filter

It is not the case that you found the charcoal filter in the box, and place it immediately at the water filter holder. Initially, you're supposed to follow some simple steps before using the charcoal filter.

Firstly, rinse the filter with normal water for about one minute. Make sure that it absorbs the water perfectly. Now, soak the filters for five minutes in a bowl or any vessel.

Finally, give a gentle massage to the filters, such that the charcoal particles fall in the bowl, not in the coffee you prepare.

Note: This step is useful for only those users who get a charcoal filter in the box.

Step V: Place The Charcoal Water Filter Back To The Place

There are two important components of a charcoal water filter, one is bottom pod holder, and the other is top handle. Now, put the charcoal filter onto the bottom part and place the handle over it. Also, push the water filter into the water reservoir.

All the parts will be comfortably attaining their positions. Once you're done with this, you now don't have to detach parts or do anything with the components.

Step VI: Fill The Water Reservoir and Press The Power Button

Once you're done with the above steps, it's now time to begin the real process. Take the water reservoir and fill it to the MAX FILL line. If your Keurig comes with any water filter, then you can use tap water, but if you don't include such, you're supposed to use filtered water.

Hard water can lead to serious scale problems, so filtered water is recommended

Now take the water reservoir back to its position and fix it. Turn the power button ON and let the coffee maker preheat. Depending upon the model you're using, the preheating time could vary 20 seconds to 3 minutes.

Step VII: Place a Mug Over The Drip Tray

Some of the Keurig coffee maker models come with built-in sensors that don't brew when there's no cup placed over the drip tray. It's good if your model comes with such feature. However, if it is not included then place a mug before brewing to avoid any kind of a mess.

Step VIII: Select The Brew Size and Press Brew

Select any of the brew sizes from the control panel (make sure it doesn't exceed the cup size) and press the Brew button. Depending on the model you're using, the machine will brew a coffee-less cup of coffee in about 1-3 minutes. It hasn't placed any coffee pod in the unit yet, that's why we called it coffee less.

With this, all the internal components of your Keurig are rinsed with the water, and you're ready to use this mighty gadget.
